Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions about joining us? Here are the most common ones we get asked!
Do I need to bring anything?
No need to bring anything! You can bring gloves if you'd like, but all other equipment is provided. We've got everything you need for a successful cleanup.
Are dogs welcome?
Yes! Dogs are very welcome as long as they're well behaved. It's a great community activity for the whole family - including your furry friends!
Can children join?
Absolutely! Kids can come with their parents. It's a wonderful way to teach children about caring for our environment and community.
What happens after the cleanup?
Refreshments are provided afterwards at the sailing club - tea, coffee, and biscuits, completely free of charge. It's a lovely way to chat and get to know fellow Wombles!
Do I have to stay for the whole cleanup?
No, you don't have to stay for the whole time! Just let people know when you're leaving so that others aren't looking out for you. Come and go as your schedule allows.
Can I borrow equipment for my own cleanup?
Yes! If you pick up litter on your way to a cleanup, you can take equipment away to do more cleanup later. Just talk to Sam so she knows where the equipment has gone.
How can I get more involved?
Talk to any volunteers or organizers during cleanups to learn how to get more involved. Check our website for sponsor opportunities and ways to volunteer more with us. We're always looking for enthusiastic people to join our community efforts!
